2. Upload Your Photo: Snap a picture of your piece with your phone (or use an existing photo). Don't worry about the background.
3. Download Your Studio Shot: In seconds, the tool will generate a professional "After" image, ready to download and share.

The tool never alters your actual piece—it only changes the world around it. It preserves the color, texture, and fine details you worked so hard to create. You can choose from a dozen different "moods," including:

Drawing a perfectly symmetrical shape is hard. Translating that 2D sketch into a 3D object is even harder. That’s why I built Symmetry Design Studio, a free and simple web tool designed to bridge the gap between the idea in your mind and a workable plan for the lathe.

It’s not a complicated CAD program; it’s a digital sketchbook for turners.

How It Works: From a Simple Line to a 3D Form

The process is designed to feel intuitive, even if you think you can't draw a straight line.

1. You Only Draw Half. The screen is split by a center line that acts like the core of your spindle. You simply draw the profile of your piece on one side, and the app perfectly mirrors it on the other in real-time. No more guessing, no more erasing.
2. Instantly See It in 3D. With the click of a button, the app takes your 2D profile and "lathes" it into a 3D model. You can spin it around, look at it from every angle, and see exactly how those curves will interact. You can finally check if the proportions feel right before you ever touch a tool to wood.
3. Refine and Perfect. Made a mistake? There's an undo button. Want to visualize a hollow form? Switch to the "Interior" line tool to draw the inside wall, and the 3D model will update to show you the wall thickness.
